Derrick brings a blend of technical expertise and practical leadership to his role as Director of Accounting at IL Group. A Certified Public Accountant with more than a decade of experience, he oversees accounting operations with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Before joining IL Group, Derrick built his career across public accounting, nonprofit finance, and operational leadership roles. His background includes experience in tax planning, financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvement, along with time spent supporting nonprofit organizations and consulting on internal controls. He holds both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Troy University.

Colleagues appreciate Derrick’s detail-oriented approach and clear communication style. He values strong systems that support long-term growth and enjoys finding ways to streamline processes while maintaining financial integrity across the organization. Outside of work, Derrick enjoys spending time outdoors, whether camping, boating, or relaxing at the beach. He’s active in his community, volunteering at local events like the Shrimp Festival and supporting children’s programs through his church.
